The fine-grained granite rock-climbing wall in nearby Index is a climber’s paradise with sport climbs, trad climbs, and long-aid climbs. The routes range from 70 feet to over 700 feet, making this an ideal place for beginner and seasoned climbers. Purchase bare necessities at the Index General Store before heading to the free, unregulated campsites along the riverbank. Climbing season is nearly year-round with no permit or parking passes required.

Reiter Foothills Recreation Area
This area caters to motorcyclists, ATV enthusiasts, BMX and mountain bikers who are seeking a thrilling adventure. Though the 22 miles of trails are open year-round, the daily hours are seasonal. Camping within the recreation area isn’t permitted, but a new staging area is planned.

Horseback Riding
